studio sterre is a design studio founded by designer Hesther de Jong-Nijland.

 

Color and design is my passion!

For me, creating illustrations and designs is the perfect mix of colour, shape and material,

a mix of chaos and order, of symmetry and playfulness and that is reflected in my work.

 

During walks through forests and along wetlands in the area where I live and work in Friesland,

I take pictures of flowers, plants, animals and insects.

 

There is always something to discover in nature and I use this inspiration into my designs.

For example, the color combinations of flowers,

the details of leaves, the shield of a beetle or the plumage of a bird.

 

Then I research the right color combinations for my designs,

grab my sketchbook and work out my ideas, then the digital design process begins.
