Artwork primary school

Last year I was commissioned to design a 2 dimensional artwork for the outer facade of the primary school De Voorde in Drachten.The large work of art incorporates drawings made by students of the school.

From the drawings of the students I selected elements, for example a sun, rainbow, fish, etc. I combined these elements and made a new composition, in which shape, color, depth, movement and rhythm form a timeless interplay.

I am very happy with the result, the artwork has become a lively visual whole and radiates creative energy and creates a connectionbetween the students. The artwork is digitally designed and applied by means of a foil on Dibond plates.

I have made a book in which the creation of the artwork that I designed for a primary school is described.

The book is a gift for the school, so that the children and teachers can read the meaning of the artwork at their leisure and use it during lessons if they wish. I have had a few books printed and I lend a few of these books to people in my area who would like to see the artwork and are curious about the story.

Now the books are traveling around, that idea came about spontaneously, but it's fun!
